The following details are provided to promote awareness of numerous opportunities made available through different scholarship databases. There are still alternatives that may not appear on this list.

Be advised that there are cases of scholarship scams. In general, avoid scholarships with an application fee, scholarship matching services who guarantee success, advance-fee loan scams and sales pitches disguised as financial aid “seminars”.  We recommend comparing scholarships through the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for information on financial aid and scholarships scams.

"The Jaime & Blanca Jarrín Foundation, renowned for its transformative impact on the lives of young Latinos, has joined forces with Los Defensores to provide $50,000 in scholarships to deserving Latino students this June—with two $12,500 grants for current law students and five $5,000 grants for undergraduate students pursuing degrees in journalism, communication, and law."

"The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities is partnering with Café Bustelo® to award twenty-five $5,000 El Café del Futuro Scholarships. Since 2014, $805,000 in scholarship funds have been awarded to more than 100 Hispanic students nationwide through the partnership."

To enter, students must complete the online application located on the HACU website and write an essay in English or Spanish, in 800 words or less, responding to the following topic:

Describe how your Latino heritage, family and the community in which you grew up have impacted your desire and motivation to obtain a college degree. Additionally, describe what you intend to accomplish with your degree and how you will give back to your community.

The scholarship opportunity is available to undergraduate and graduate students of all majors who are enrolled full-time at a HACU-member institution, are 18 years old or older, of Hispanic/Latino descent and U.S. citizens or permanent legal residents.

Young Entrepreneur Scholarship Grant

"You’ve got big ideas, and we want to turn them into a reality. One young scholar with entrepreneurial spirit will receive $2,500 to continue their education."

To apply to become a 2024 Chick-fil-A Community Scholar, you must:

  • Be a resident in the United States, Puerto Rico or Canada.
  • Be a postsecondary undergraduate or graduate student or planning to enroll in undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the 2024-2025 academic year.
  • Be recommended by a teacher, coach, community leader or mentor, addressing the applicant’s personal and/or professional achievement. Up to three recommendation letters will be accepted.
  • Show demonstrated care through community-service in the twelve (12) months prior to application. You will be asked to share in what ways you were able to make an impact on your community, friends and family.
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent). Academic awards and recognition will be considered. Applicants are required to upload a transcript that displays their name, school name, classes taken and GPA.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Not be employed at a Chick-fil-A® restaurant or Chick-fil-A, Inc. at the time of application or the dependent or spouse of a Chick-fil-A, Inc. Employee or Operator.

$4,000 Scholarship!

Are you a high school senior or undergraduate who is looking to offset the cost of your business, tech, marketing or communications degree? Apply for the 10X $4,000 scholarship to be awarded Summer 2024.

"The Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship is a highly selective scholarship for the nation’s top community college students seeking to complete their bachelor’s degrees at four-year colleges or universities."

Each award is intended to cover a significant share of the student’s educational expenses – including tuition, living expenses, books and required fees – for the final two to three years necessary to achieve a bachelor’s degree. Awards vary by individual, based on the cost of tuition as well as other grants or scholarships they may receive. This highly competitive scholarship includes:

  • The opportunity to graduate with as little debt as possible. The award, which is last dollar funding after all institutional aid, can provide as much as $55,000 per year to complete a bachelor’s degree at any accredited undergraduate institution.
  • Ability to pursue any area of study.
  • Personal advising about selecting a college and navigating financial aid.
  • Multifaceted advising about how to transition to a four-year college and maximize the student experience.

"Established by Greater Than Gatsby as part of a new initiative to establish a channel of support for the next generation, the Greater Than Gatsby Annual Scholarship supports the future of visual art and content creators.  Greater Than Gatsby was born in 2012. Today, we are one of the leading creators worldwide of Innovative, professional and high-quality and Lightroom Presets and Photoshop Actions. Two (2) recipients will receive $1,000 USD each to be used to help pay their tuition and academic expenses to an accredited non-profit college/university or vocational/technical school in the United States."


  • You must be a recently accepted high-school student, undergraduate or graduate student from an accredited college/university in the United States.
  • You must be majoring in any type of art, communications, english, film, fine arts, journalism, multimedia, photography and visual arts.

"The Monterey County Film Commission Scholarship Award Program was created to provide financial aid and incentive to students of film and beginning filmmakers. In keeping with our mission, the goal is to provide, encourage and support educational opportunities relating to film, to the residents of Monterey County. Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (or the equivalent).

Must be a citizen of, permanent resident of, or hold an active F1 I-20 or active J1 DS -2019 in the United States or Canada on the date of scholarship selection (25th of each month).
Must have designed an innovative project that makes a difference in the lives of others (This could be a website, series of blogs, an app, fundraising event, etc.)
Must submit an essay describing the goal of the particular project and provide supporting documentation. There is no minimum or maximum word/page count.

The essay, idea, or creation must be the applicant’s original work.

All submissions must be uploaded no later than 11:59 pm PST on the 20th of each month. The submission window closes starting the 21st and will reopen on the 1st at 8:00 a.m.

Students are welcome to reapply each month. Previous winners are not eligible to reapply.

Scholarship winners will be contacted via email and must respond within five(5) days of the date of the email to accept the award. If no response is received within this time, another recipient will be selected. Students who have not been chosen will not be contacted.

Student Eligibility Requirements

  • Scholarships are available to students enrolled in a California Community College.
  • Scholarship preference shall be given to underrepresented students who are working towards a certificate or degree in insurance, risk management, financial services or a related field, such as business administration, with a concentration in or focus on the insurance and benefits industry.
  • Applicants must be eligible for a California College Promise Grant or be experiencing other circumstances demonstrating financial need.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in and complete three (3) units each semester, or the quarter equivalent, in insurance, risk management, financial services, or related courses to be eligible for a scholarship.
  • Students: Submit your application to your Community College Financial Aid or Scholarship Office. Do NOT submit an application directly to FoundationCCC. Scholarships will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, so make sure to apply to your Community College Scholarship or Financial Aid Office as early as possible!
